Sometimes without purposeful intention, we take our family members for granted and treat them with a matter of disregard. Like everyday objects being ignored of their importance due to their sheer banality.
Searching for mundane objects in my home, I seek to draw out the metaphorical and narrative potential in each object. Although banal, they represent my family’s and my own existence. They confront my solitude and vulnerability as a single child, and my bond with my family. Each image contains remnants of family memories, leftover from mundane co-existence and affairs that we often fail to notice.
